The Pink Link, a member of Palletways, has designed and implemented a unique service to help its customers save time and money.
The Huddersfield-based distribution company has created a storage solution for customers by adapting Palletways’ Collect Direct service that allows customers to collect their goods directly from their local Palletways depot instead of having their goods delivered to their premises. The new service means that customers can now use the storage facilities available through Palletways’ Members throughout the UK.
Vicki Davenport, The Pink Link’s sales and commercial director, said: “One of our clients, Nu-Swift International, a supplier of high quality fire extinguishers, servicing and safety training, was experiencing high storage costs at a number of its sites across the UK. We came up with a solution for Nu-Swift to use the storage facilities available through Palletways’ existing depots nationwide by adapting the existing Collect Direct service. As this saves them both time and money, we are looking at offering this service to existing and new customers.”
Paul Daykin, managing director of Nu-Swift, said: “I spent a considerable amount of time analysing our current storage facilities, the locations required to house our engineers, the general implications of relocating them, as well as a complete cost saving analysis. The cost saving The Pink Link and Palletways was able to offer us was of such a scale that we have now relocated 43 engineers and 20 storage facilities into 21 different Palletways depots.”
The Pink Link is one of 100 plus UK Palletways members - all independent transport companies with local knowledge and expertise - which make up the UK distribution network and provide a range of express delivery services including next day, economy and timed delivery options.
