Pink Lady Apples this week announced the winner of its second annual Ready Steady Go Challenge, a highly successful joint promotion with Fitness First Health Clubs.

Over 17,000 people countrywide in the 116 branches of Fitness First responded to Pink Lady's invitation to get fit and have fun. The ultimate prize for the overall winner was a bright pink Smart Car, presented by Pink Lady's Gordon Winterbottom in Berkeley Square.

Wrexham's Anna Hoynes topped the league. A 24-year-old customer service operative Anna said, 'I couldn't believe my luck. I literally pushed myself to get through all the disciplines in the contest as quickly as possible. Gordon called me and I was convinced someone was playing a big joke on me. When I realised it was genuine I was over the moon. This is a total dream come true.' Hoynes, a member of Fitness First for over a year, discovered the joys of Pink Lady apples after her work-outs during the course of the Ready Steady Go Challenge.

Winterbottom said: 'Once again the Pink Lady(r) Fitness First Challenge has proved to be both inspirational and fun for those who rose to it. It's a pleasure to meet Anna and present her with this fabulous and very pink new car. We hope to continue to work with Fitness First on future projects as the Pink Lady brand continues to grow in stature in the UK.' Anne Hudson, Group Affinity Director for Fitness First added, 'The synergy between Pink Lady(r) and Fitness First is perfect. The second year of The Fitness First Challenge has proved this still more emphatically. We look forward to future projects.'
