Pink Lady apples are teaming up with premium retailer Harrods this Valentine’s Day to offer shoppers 2,000 unique apples, each with a heart-shaped mark on their skin.

The fruit goes on sale in the world-famous Harrods Food Halls on 8 February, priced at £3 each.

All proceeds will be donated to the Kiss It Better campaign, run by Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital Charity to raise money for research into childhood cancer.

The fruit was grown in the south of France and heart-shaped stickers were applied in September on fruit facing the sun to form the little hearts.
