NFU horticultural and potato board chair Sarah Pettitt is the latest to be confirmed for the FPJ Conferences - East Midlands event, to be held at the White Hart, in Lincoln on 17 March. Pettitt will draw from her experience as both a fourth generation Lincolnshire brassica grower and field vegetable specialist for the NFU to speak as part of the conference’s section on Growing and Research. She will focus on linking up the supply chain in the East Midlands, whilst discussing some solutions to the challenges fresh produce businesses see within the region.

Pettitt is the technical and business development manager for F Pettitt & Son, growing more than 500 acres of brassicas, some cereals and rotational legumes, as well as chair of the NFU Holland (Lincs) County Board and a member of the Lincolnshire Agriculture & Horticulture Forum, the Horticultural Development Company Board, the Assured Produce Board, the AP Technical Advisory Committee and the DEFRA Fruit and Vegetables Task Force.

Joining Pettitt to either speak or take part in one of two debates through the day chaired by FPJ editor Michael Barker will be the Crop Protection Association’s Dominic Dyer, Kantar Worldpanel’s Ed Garner, wholesale specialist Nicholas Saphir, retail consultant Rob Ward, Fresh Direct’s David Burns and QV Foods’ Simon Martin.
