Scientific Analysis Laboratories (SAL) , a leading provider of analytical services the fresh produce sector among others, has appointed Eleanor Long to join Naresh Patel at the Cambridge laboratory to further develop the pesticide testing business.

With positions at CSL, Restec, and at Eurofins Laboratories, Long has more than 14 years experience in pesticide residue analysis in both a technical and advisory capacity and is well known within the produce industry and amongst the major retailers.

Long's experience will enable SAL to be able to provide more in-depth consultancy and advice to fresh produce customers looking to examine pesticide residue issues in greater depth. Long will also be instigating a series of seminars looking at aspects of pesticide residue analysis and legislation with particular reference to suppliers of fresh produce to the retail industry.
