Tree-ripened mangoes were on offer at Fruit Logistica from Peruvian producers.

Fruti Pack was at the show in Berlin last week to demonstrate the quality of its air-freighted fruit, which is ripened on the tree before being harvested.

Other Peruvian delights included sweet onions, from Keyperu, which it said were proving popular in the US market, particularly to go with burgers.

Peruvian Export Promotion, PROMPEX, co-ordinated the country’s stand, which featured 10 exporters, while a further four Peruvian companies took their own stands.

“Fruit Logistica is the place where contacts can be rapidly made and business finalised without any delays”, said PROMPEX’s Bernardo Muñoz.

He said PROMPEX had doubled its stand area this year to 122 square metres.

The show was a big success for Peruvian citrus and avocado producers, Muñoz said: “Our suppliers have already sold their next harvest in its entirety.”
