The facility is already being used by local potato producer Puffin Produce and the chill store's management hopes the extension will attract Irish and British clients keen to supply produce from and into either market.

'The location of the Atlantic Chill Store on the quays at Pembroke Port makes this an attractive opportunity for fruit and vegetable importers,' said Atlantic Industries md Andrew Jardine (pictured left with fellow director David Roberts right). 'They could store produce imported by ship at the quayside store and service both the Irish and British markets from one storage facility.' The chill store is beside deep-water shipping quays at the port at Milford Haven; adjacent to the Irish Ferries terminal. It represents heavy investment on the part of the Milford Haven Port Authority, Atlantic Industries and the Welsh Development Agency to expand loading area facilities and build an additional sales office suite.

The port was used by a number of fresh produce importers in the last decade and handled South African citrus and Egyptian potatoes.
