PEACH system in trouble again

Defra has advised the trade that its PEACH system to apply for certificates from the Horticultural Marketing Inspectorate is experiencing major problems.

Following the move of the computer servers that run the system at the weekend there are “continuing issues” a statement from the department said. “IBM is doing all it can to track down and solve the problems and issues affecting PEACH. Where you have consignments that require urgent clearance please contact the local inspector concerned who will arrange for a manual release.”

Defra said problems are on-going with e-Domero following the move of IBM's servers from Guildford to London over the weekend. One of the main issues is the inability to print quarantine release certificates. “We have agreed with HMRC that they will continue to release consignments on receipt of a faxed phyto until the problem is resolved,” said Defra.

The department also announced that the Government Gateway will be unavailable between 10pm on November 29 until 1am on November 30.
