Paul McLaughlin to manage Scotty Brand

Albert Bartlett has appointed a new managing director to handle its Scotty Brand.

Paul McLaughlin will join the business in the autumn having spent the last four years as CEO of Scotland Food & Drink, an industry-led organisation which aims to grow the value of Scotland's food and drink sector and make it more profitable,

Scotty Brand was re-launched by the Albert Bartlett Group in 2010; it had been the brand which the company’s founder used to launch the Bartlett business in 1948, initially selling beetroot under the brand.

McLaughlin’s role will focus on extending the brand’s portfolio in partnership with the best producers from across Scotland.

Scotty Brand was reintroduced last year with a fresh potato line and will extend across the produce category in the year ahead. In June, the brand will launch its soft-fruit offer with further new products planned for the autumn.

Ronnie Bartlett, managing director of Albert Bartlett & Sons (Airdrie) Ltd, said: “Paul joins the group with a wealth of commercial experience and an intimate knowledge of the Scottish food industry, we are delighted to have him join the team and we are extremely excited about the opportunity to develop the brand further with great partners and a leading customer offer.”

Scotty Brand products are all grown and packed in Scotland; the brand provides a platform for producers across the ex-farm categories to market under one banner, engaging customers with strong brand messaging and delivering the finest Scottish produce.
