Prepared vegetable specialist Parripak has expanded its range to appeal to the growing trend for barbecue-style foods.

The Bedfordshire firm is already on of the UK’s largest processors of fresh vegetables for chilled-food manufacturers and is now offering pepper squares, sweetcorn wheels and baby onions for skewered kebabs.

“Ready-prepared products play an increasingly important role within the barbecue industry, so freshness of product is paramount and fast delivery and turnaround times vital to meet the needs of this discerning marketplace,” said Parripak product development manager Adam Rigarlsford. “Unlike other product lines such as diced carrots and potatoes which are machine-cut, products for kebabs require a higher specification and a greater attention to detail. To meet these requirements we have a bespoke products area where the products are all individually hand-finished.”
