Parkfresh plc has won the JP Fresh sponsored Regional Foodservice Supplier of the Year award at the Re:fresh awards this week.

Parkfresh has enjoyed rapid growth over the past few years, evolving as a market leader by maintaining high standards, diversifying ahead of trends, pin-pointing opportunities for growth and investing in its team.

The business was acquired by Re:fresh National Foodservice Supplier of the Year Fresh Direct after it entered the awards, and beat off stiff competition from leading foodservice supplier in the North East JR Holland Food Services and Kent-based Local Food Alliance to scoop the award. Re:fresh judges commended Parkfresh for keeping “ahead of the game”.

The firm, headed up by managing director Abigail Rycraft, puts an emphasis on employee development and support of local faming, as well as environmental and ethical issues.

A range of policies covering quality, safety, ethical and environmental issues, as well as corporate social responsibility has become the backbone of the business. This firm foundation will provide a platform for its ambitious plans.

The Lancashire-based supplier has nurtured relationships with local growers and is keen to promote sustainable farming and source Farm Assured produce wherever possible.

The firm is committed to reducing its impact on the environment, by using 20 per cent bio-diesel in all its vehicles, looking into electric-powered vehicles and changing to Euro 4 engines over the next three years.
