Farming minister Jim Paice has formally opened the new offices of Tesco supplier Produce Global Solutions (PGS).

Due to the business’ recent expansion, it has relocated its offices to Ely, Cambridgeshire.

PGS was established more than six years ago by founder Mark Haynes, and currently supplies over 200 tonnes of fresh mushrooms per week to the retail, foodservice and catering trade. The company reports a close relationship with its major retail client, Tesco.

The office was formally opened by Paice, minister of state for agriculture and food, last month. The event was attended by growers and representatives of its packing and service provider from the Netherlands.

PGS have significant strategy plans in place with increased involvement in the UK and the Netherlands, through regional and local sourcing.
