International Forum Design will launch the first-ever IF packaging award at interpack 2008.
The competition, to coincide with the trade fair in Düsseldorf on 24-30 April 2008, is aimed at entrepreneurs across the entire packaging industry, whether manufacturers, designers or developers of packaging, packaging materials, graphics and packaging machinery.
Those interested in participating are allowed to submit entries to one or several of the eight different categories. These are made up of the many forms of packaging, including sales and transport of packaging, as well as packaging machines, packaging materials, graphics and construction.
For an entry to be eligible, none must be more than three years old. In the packaging concepts category, designs that have not yet gone into production or are only available in prototype form may also be submitted.
An independent jury of experts will judge the entries, with attention paid to quality of design, ergonomics, choice of materials and the degree of innovation, and particular emphasis placed on the focal aspects of each category.
Winners will receive the iF Industrie Forum Design e.V. label as a quality seal for the award-winning design, and five outstanding entries will also win the iF gold award. The prize-giving ceremony will take place on April 24, 2008.
Potential entrants will be able to find detailed information about participating and entry forms at www.ifdesign.de. The closing date for all entries is December 15 2007.
