The first shipments of Or and Mor citrus, Carmel's famous easy peelers varieties, exported by Agrexco, are on their way to Europe.
Developed by the Israeli Volcani Centre, Or and Mor are set to leave their mark on the European citrus market as Agrexco expects an increase of twenty per cent from last season.
Golda Ezuz, manager of Agrexco's Citrus Department, said: "Or and Mor were first introduced a few years ago and received a warm welcome.
“Unlike other varieties, they are sought after by everyone and not by a specific segment, so we have high hopes for them this season".
First deliveries of Or will reach the U.K, France, Germany, Scandinavia and other markets, in two weeks.
Mor will follow shortly after this in Agrexco's environment friendly vessels, in optimum conditions, assuring they are at their best when they reach Europe.
