Opportunities in Ghana up for grabs

Pro€Invest, the West Africa Business Association (WABA) and the Ghana Free Zone Board are organising a seminar and a series of one-to-one business meetings on Ghanaian agribusiness.

The invitation-only event will take place in London on November 20-21 at the Middle East Association, Bury House, with the full support of the Ghana High Commission in the UK.

On both days there will be opportunities for one-to-one meetings with representatives from a range of Ghanaian companies providing agribusiness services and products. Meetings may take place at the seminar venue or at the firms’ London premises.

The target audience in Ghana includes firms which are already engaged in agro-processing, but which have been identified as potentially benefiting from additional developments, such as the introduction of more value-added techniques and processes, adoption of more efficient processing systems, introduction of more consumer-oriented packaging, technical or financial partners and UK marketing partners, wholesalers or retailers. This should also provide additional employment in related sectors such as shipping and transport handling.

Ghana’s low cost of living, stable democratic government and literate, English-speaking population make it well suited as a location for UK companies. Combined with a talented, low-cost labour pool, Ghana’s rapidly developing infrastructure makes it an emerging viable alternative in the global market. For UK companies, the fact that Ghana is in the same time zone and English is the official language are also both attractive features.
