HR and training consultancy Senate Solutions is running a short course for companies or employment agencies/labour providers involved in the agricultural and horticulture sectors.

The course promises to “translate the new Gangmaster (Licensing) Act 2004 into plain English, ensuring compliance” before the Act comes into force.

The two courses - one for labour users and one for labour providers - can be delivered face-to-face, either on-site or at selected locations throughout the country and will run from this month through to March. Courses delivered on a company’s site are subject to minimum number of delegates.

Other services available during this transition period include independent audits, risk assessments, health & safety training, immigration control and labour provider management.

“Many labour providers and companies are unsure of how the new Gangmaster (Licensing) Act 2004 will effect them, and how they will need to prepare to comply with the Act,” said Senate Solutions operations manager Karen Lowe. “Senate Solutions has many years experience assisting the food sectors in co-ordinating both labour and training needs in a vendor neutral capacity.”
