Omex Agrifluids has invested more than £3 million in a new state-of-the-art production and laboratory facility at a new site in Kings Lynn, Norfolk.

The fertiliser and foliar nutrition specialist has created the site to deal with new and existing business, following a significant upturn in sales over the three years.

The company has completed its move from its headquarters on the North Lynn Industrial Estate in Kings Lynn, where it has been since 1992, to its new site on the Saddlebow Industrial estate.

The opening of Omex Agrifluids’ new site, which coincides with the company’s 25th anniversary, was celebrated when Omex group chairman Olof Winkler and group managing director David Featherstone were joined by MP Henry Bellingham, King’s Lynn and West Norfolk mayor Michael Pitcher and borough council leader Nick Daubney earlier this month.

The company will continue to service new and existing customers across 60 countries as far away as the Middle East, China, Africa and South America, as well as Europe. Emerging markets include central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

A team of 16 production staff, managers and laboratory technicians have helped to put the company on the international map in its field of foliar feeds and plant health promoters. A 20 per cent annual growth expectation could see employment increase to more than 30 in the next two years.

Omex Agrifluids export director Peter Prentis said: “The last five years has seen a steady increase in the use of foliar nutrients to supplement and even partially replace conventional soil applied fertilisers as well as to increase crop health, maximise yield and quality, and reduce environmental impact.

“Our foliar products enable growers to reduce packaging and therefore minimise waste. Lighter material also reduces distribution costs, the financial benefit being passed onto our customers.

“Our commitment to new and novel product formulations and application systems has enabled us to focus on environmentally friendly formulations and maximise efficacy to allow reduced application rates.”
