New Zealand fruit exporter Turners & Growers (T&G) will have its case against Zespri heard in the New Zealand high court on 1 November.
T&G has made claims against Zespri and the single desk marketing system for kiwifruit from New Zealand since July last year, complaining that it seeks to tie operators into exclusivity contracts and to take control of new kiwifruit cultivars.
Meanwhile, Zespri’s first kiwifruit of the season bound for Europe will soon be on the water and is due to arrive in the middle of the month. Promotions this season are focusing on health and nutritional campaigns, and will be targeting schools, as well as shoppers.
To give the campaign a further boost, Zespri has been hosting international customers and media, with visits to New Zealand set to continue into next month.
