Leading international food safety and assurance company NSF-CMi has opened its new regional headquarters for Asia-Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand. The new facility will provide technical assistance, inspection and certification services to food manufacturers and retailers throughout the Asia-Pacific region. The move is a strategic response to the region’s fast growing need amongst international groups and indigenous corporations to meet global regulatory requirements and best practices.

The NSF-CMi office will sit alongside NSF International’s water and product certification division serving the same geographic region.

CMi is already a well-known certifier of fresh produce and other products in Thailand coming into both the UK and Europe. This new development enables the company to expand the services it can offer throughout the region. Mike Thomas, chief executive of NSF-CMi said: “There are major opportunities for us both to help our international clients who are sourcing food products from the region and to support retailers seeking to develop in Asia with their attendant supply chain requirements. Equally, we are now well placed to assist in the development of local retail and supply chain operations within these fast growing economies. From our new office, we can deliver our portfolio of consultancy, audit and technical services through experienced and highly trained local staff. For our clients this will mean faster, more cost-effective solutions in these emerging markets.”
