Little Melton Food Park

Little Melton Food Park, a purpose-built 25-acre food production facility close to Norwich, is offering flexible accommodation including chill and cold stores, blast freezers, white wall production areas and food testing kitchens.

Originally developed as a major quality meat processing plant, new life is being breathed in to the site with the launch of the re-branded ‘Little Melton Food Park’. The facilities are available to lease via the Norwich office of commercial agents Brown & Co.

The new venture is being spearheaded by Norfolk businessmen Carl and David Baker of R S Baker and Sons Ltd, who purchased the freehold of the site earlier this year. With considerable experience in food processing and retail butchery, they are confident food businesses drawn to the park will generate hundreds of new jobs. Some of the park is let to existing occupier, Brooks of Norwich, and the food park aims to attract further tenants from around the region and throughout the UK.

Carl Baker said: “The Little Melton Food Park has been designed to appeal to a wide cross section of food-related businesses, from primary producers and processors of meat and fresh produce looking to store and add value to products, right through to premium food producers.”

The chill and coldstores comprise a range of buildings, from small rooms to a major 1,800sqm cold store, with a 560sqm chilled loading bay. With flexibility being the key, the cold store is available to let as a whole, or on a palletised basis.

“Companies looking for food production space have a choice of three modern, fully white-walled food preparation buildings complete with lined ceilings and wash-down floors,” says commercial agent Andy Evans of Brown & Co. “The adjacent building houses a specialist Tray Wash Facility, with a powerful steam cleaning machine, which is available to let as a whole or to hire.”

In addition, three modern steel portal framed warehouse and industrial buildings, complete with concrete floors and vehicular access doors, provide conventional storage and workshop space.

The food park is well situated close to the A11/A47 Thickthorn junction of the Norwich bypass. As well as the specialist storage and production facilities, the site boasts offices and ample lorry and car parking facilities.
