Cordyline Firecracker

Cordyline Firecracker

The Northern Liner Company will return to Four Oaks this year to launch five new varieties.

The Cordyline ‘Firecracker’ has vibrant burgundy foliage with strikingly upright, almost spiky leaves that have a hint of pink along the edges. The nursery has extensively trialled the Firecracker, which they have found to be hardier than the Red Star, less prone to marking and with a superior colour and habit, which makes it suitable for both the garden and houseplant markets.

The upright Berberis ‘Orange Rocket’ has striking orange foliage which turns a deeper shade during the summer, and is ideal for both hedging and containers.

The Berberis Golden Rocket is a ‘stunning’ upright golden yellow new growth, and is flushed with pink and orange in the summer, but does not scorch in full sun. According to the company, it is perfect for both hedging and containers.

‘Rosy Rocket’ is a distinctive pale pink Berberis variegation on the new growth with turns to a rich ruby red. According to Northern Liners, the plant’s upright habit makes it great for plant or hedging containers.

The Cotinus ‘Dusky Maiden’ is a ‘stunning’ new compact smoke bush with a freely branching habit and undulating leaves, which are smaller than those of Royal Purple.
