Food and drink businesses across the North West are set to receive a boost with the launch of a new specialist service. Enrich, the Northwest Food and Drink Hub, officially opens on June 12, and has been developed to nurture enterprise and innovation within the North West’s food and drink industry.

The launch will be held at Reaseheath College from 2pm, when visitors will be able to see first hand demonstrations of the food development and trial facilities at Reaseheath, and speak to members of staff about how Enrich can help them to grow their business.

Assisting more than 300 small enterprises, primary producers and major manufacturers per year, Enrich works with partner organisations to ensure businesses have access to the best expertise and knowledge to help them grow. Dependent on the specific needs of the business, support will be offered through a variety of methods including workshops, clinics and individual business meetings, many of which will be offered free of charge.

Alex Kilcoyne, Rural Enterprise Gateway (REG) project manager, said: “Enrich will provide invaluable support for businesses in the food and drink industry across the North West, and we will be working with them to provide the help and assistance they need in order to grow.

“At Enrich we have access to knowledge and expertise across all aspects of food and drink production, which we can use to advise Northwest producers and manufacturers on new avenues of revenue and how to expand their business.”
