Norbert reports revenue increase

Norbert Dentressangle has seen consolidated revenue increase by 9.3 per cent in the first quarter with new freight forwarding business at the heart of the growth.

The logistics specialist’s revenue totalled €750 million, up seven per cent on a like-for-like basis.

Transport revenue continued the favourable growth trend recorded at the end of 2010, advancing 9.2 per cent on a published basis and growing 8.6 per cent like-for-like in Q1 2011.

The performance included the impact of higher diesel fuel prices on selling prices of some three per cent.

The positive growth trend was observed in all geographical regions, and particularly the UK, Italy and the Netherlands.

A year after its launch, the new freight forwarding activity generated revenue of €10 million in the first quarter, benefiting from the consolidation of the Schneider Logistics' freight forwarding business and the division's own organic growth.

Norbert Dentressangle CEO François Bertreau said: "During this first quarter, all of our UK-based activities in transport, logistics, and freight forwarding have built on the steady growth trends recorded last year. This creates a favourable environment for the swift and smooth integration of TDG, which we acquired at the end of March."

The TDG acquisition was finalised on 28 March 2011, with the company consolidated in Norbert Dentressangle's financial statements as of 1 April, 2011.

Its next half-year results will be reported on 27 July.
