In New Zealand, Kiwifruit Vine Health (KVH) has released its latest update on the spread of the vine-killing disease Psa across the country's kiwifruit industry, reporting that a further 74 positive results have been identified this week.
Of those 74 positive results, one was in Waihi, three were in Tauranga East, 19 in Tauranga West, one was in Opotik, 36 were in Katikati, four were in Coromandel, three were in Waikato, four were in Franklin, one was in Kerikeri and there were two provisional findings in Whangerei.
KVH noted that the total number of orchards with Psa-V confirmed is now 1,887, representing 8,964ha on affected orchards or 65 per cent of ha on affected orchards.
