Catering supplier Prescott Thomas, has taken delivery of a further quantity of 7.5t fridge vehicles on full contract hire from Petit Forestier, the UK’s leading provider of refrigerated rental and contract hire vehicles.
The contract is fully inclusive of all routine servicing, MOTs, the immediate provision replacement vehicles and 24 hour support and roadside assistance. The new 7.5t vehicles will be used six days a week to deliver a full range of prepared and fresh produce from Prescott Thomas’s base in New Spitalfields to customers across London, the South East and the Home Counties.
The 7.5t DAF vehicles have single compartment bodies fitted with Carrier Xarios 500 refrigeration units to suit the totally chilled multiple-drop delivery application. In addition to the 7.5t vehicles, Prescott Thomas also operates a fleet of 3.5t refrigerated box vans, 12 of which are also on contract hire from Petit Forestier.
To facilitate order picking at the point of delivery, the vans have been fitted with bespoke folding shelving along both sides of the body. And to safeguard temperature-integrity and for convenience, access at the rear is via triple rear doors.
Prescott Thomas said: “Our delivery operation is the lifeblood of our business because we deliver six days a week and vehicle uptime is critical. With Petit Forestier we get replacement vehicles as soon as we need them and of an appropriate specification. Not all companies can offer this, but Petit Forestier has the resources. We can also get hold of extra vehicles from them at short notice which is a bonus.
“Petit Forestier also takes care of all the service aspects relating to the vans which means that we can focus on supplying fresh produce.”
