Fresca has announced the departure of its board director Nigel Trood, who worked as managing director of The Fresh Produce Centre, for personal reasons.
The Fresh Produce Centre is the Kent-based facility from where several of the Fresca businesses operate, including Mack Fruit, DGM Growers, MMG Citrus, Fresh Plus and The Avocado Company. Other companies, including Euroberry UK and FreshLinc, also have bases at the site.
Trood is understood to be moving to Austria, with Fresca chief executive Ian Craig taking responsibility for the businesses at The Fresh Produce Centre and DGM Growers following a phased handover during December.
Craig said: “The companies in the group have all evolved significantly in recent years, but none more so than those at Paddock Wood where Nigel Trood has designed and implemented fundamental and positive change in the six years of his leadership tenure.
'He has brought innovation and energy, enabling his teams to develop and perform within a marketplace where there’s little certainty or predictability. Nigel has also been a very astute and supportive member of the Fresca Group board, providing significant input to aid the development and performance of our other group ventures. I want to thank Nigel for everything he has brought to The Fresh Produce Centre and to Fresca Group, and to wish him well for the future.'
