Nigel Shepherd has left his role as superintendent at New Spitalfields Wholesale Market.
Shepherd, who was accountable for an annual budget of £7.6 million, and landlord to 140 tenanted businesses collectively turning over £0.7bn on the 32-acre East London site, has moved to a new job at tech company in London.
Jan Hutchinson, CEO of Spitalfields Market Tenants Association, and David Smith, director of markets at the City of London Corporation, thanked Shepherd for his efforts, and wished him luck in his new role.
A hunt for his successor is under way.
