NFU Scotland announced the candidates for the roles of president and vice-president on Thursday.

NFU president John Kinnaird will stand down at the NFUS council meeting in February after four years in the role.

Bob Howat and Jim McLaren, both NFU vice-presidents, will stand for the two-year office of president.

The two positions of vice-president are also open for election. Jim McLaren will stand for a one-year vice-president position if he is not elected for the role of president, alongside Adam Fisken, Nigel Miller and Stewart Wood.

Elections will take place at the NFU Scotland council meeting on February 23 at Dunblane Hydro Hotel following the annual general meeting and dinner.

All candidates and NFUS members are invited to attend the hustings meetings set to take place around the country in January and February 2007.
