The farming union is pushing for a halt to the Family Farm Tax with two more demonstrations planned in London in February and March
The Council of the National Farmers’ Union (NFU), the organisation’s ruling body of elected farming and growing members, voted overwhelmingly today (28 January) to stage a ”campaign moment” in London in February as part of its drive to halt the Family Farm Tax.
It also voted to support a planned rally proposed by a group of farmers in the capital in March.
The campaign moment would be the latest part of the NFU’s efforts to highlight the effect inheritance tax changes on farms will have on UK food production.
The event will coincide with the annual NFU Conference, this year held in London.
NFU Council also agreed overwhelmingly that the organisation should also support a proposed rally in London in March.
If it goes ahead, the council said it would encourage members to attend and help organisers of that event by using the NFU’s communications power to publicise it.
