The NFU East Midlands has appointed a new regional director.
Richard Hezlet, currently business development manager at Telford, will take up the role in October.
He joined the NFU as regional administrator in Liss 13 years ago and has since had roles in the Union's South East and West Midlands offices.
He said: "The East Midlands region has a reputation for being friendly and effective and I am looking forward to working closely with the staff, group secretaries and members to further the interests of our farmers and growers."
"Whether it be lobbying the government on new legislation or seeking out new markets, co-operation is essential."
He added that he will take his proactive attitude into the new role and is keen to remind farmers what the NFU can do to help them.
He takes over from Jack Ward who is moving to the National Proficiency Tests Council at Stoneleigh.
