NFT and Manor Fresh sign M&S supply deal

NFT has secured a two-year contract with Manor Fresh Ltd to distribute both its conventional and organic potatoes and vegetables to Marks & Spencer.

NFT, which provides time-critical distribution services to the food retail and manufacturing sectors, will transport around 70,000 trays of fresh produce per week from Manor Fresh’s Holbeach site to the regional distribution centres of M&S, using a fleet of temperature-controlled vehicles.

“Spalding is one of the UK’s largest food-producing regions, and this contract with Manor Fresh marks the beginning of our plans to provide highly specialist, time-critical distribution services for the many food suppliers in the area,” said NFT chief executive David Frankish.

“Winning this contract is also further testimony to our reputation as a leading supplier of distribution services to food suppliers. We are looking forward to helping Manor Fresh Produce further enhance its service to M&S and to offering our services to other suppliers in the region.”

Charlie Stowe, Manor Fresh Produce’s supply chain manager, said: “In today’s business climate no one can afford to stand still. Therefore, we recently initiated a review of our distribution arrangements with the primary aim of enhancing our customer service levels and cost efficiencies. We were particularly impressed with NFT’s proactive approach to investment and its focus on service. We are delighted to be their first customer as they expand into the area.”
