Foods from Spain has launched a website dedicated to Spanish fresh produce.

The organisation aims to provide information on this year’s integrated promotional campaign on Picota cherries, Superior Seedless grapes, and tomatoes from the Canary Islands.

The website, www.foodsfromspain.co.uk, includes information about which products are in season, current production and promotions, as well as recipes. There is also a press centre for journalists, featuring 2006 press releases, and a downloadable image library.

The launch comes after Foods from Spain’s success with the promotional website, www.winwithspain.co.uk, where shoppers can win prizes including a car and holidays to Barcelona and Madrid.

This site has now been incorporated into the new Foods from Spain web pages, and updated for a new set of prizes to be won throughout 2006.

María José Sevilla, director of Foods from Spain, said: “We are very excited about the launch of our new website, the latest addition to our ongoing promotional campaign in the UK market.

“The number of consumers shopping and searching for information online is rising by the week, so we believe a website provides an effective, not to mention essential, means of drawing shoppers’ attention to Spanish fresh produce.”

Information on plums, which were recently added to the Foods from Spain integrated promotional campaign, will be added to the website during the summer.
