New varieties of apples will be the focus of attention this November at the annual Interpoma conference in Italy.

Everything involving the cultivation, storage and marketing of apples will be under discussion during the event at the Bolanzo Exhibition Centre on November 10 to 12.

Those taking part will include all well-known names from the industry from across all sectors and the show is expecting to see a fresh crop of new varieties and clones to be exhibited.

Some of the organisations exhibiting their new wares will include the Consortium of South Tyrolean Nurseries, which will be presenting la Flamboyante - Mairac and the Braeburn clone Helena, while the FENO group will be introducing the clones Rubinfuji, Redkan, Gold Rosio and Roho 3615.

Also on hand will be the Italian Nursery Consortium with new variety Civni - Rubens, and the Zanzi nursery with its Gold Pink - Gold Chief variety along with two new Gala clones, Annaglo and Ruby Gala.

The show will also see a number of pesticide companies exhibiting, including Bayer, Syngenta and BASF, as well as fertilizer manufacturers and machinery companies.
