Spar (UK) Ltd has revealed a new consumer website that will enhance the convenience group’s food and drink credentials, and champion its ongoing commitment to athletics sponsorship ahead of the Olympics.
The website will bring Spar’s long-term link with UK and European Athletics to life in the run-up to the 2012 Olympics, as the site gets set to bring down-to-earth information and advice to active athletes.
Online information will include fitness tips, healthy eating information, a guide to athletics and athletics-inspired resources for schools to download including certificates for local sports days.
The website has been re-developed with a major focus on recipes, with more than 50 recipes currently on the site and with a new recipe added each week.
Adam Margolin, head of marketing support for Spar UK, said: “The website is simple to navigate, attractive and includes a variety of exciting content to entice consumers to visit more often and stay for longer.
“With features including a store locator to help customers find their nearest Spar store, an ‘in the community’ section demonstrating great examples of the fundraising projects retailers have undertaken and a ‘need a distraction’ page devoted to lighter entertainment (including competitions, exclusive offers and games), the website represents the first major step in our three-year digital journey.”
