A new Spanish mandarin that producers claim will be the most exclusive variety on the market is set to launch in the UK next year.
Clemcott will hit retail stores from January and will be available until April.
The club variety features “freshness, great flavour, excellent balance between sweet and sour and an intoxicating aroma”, according to supplier the Protected Vegetable Varieties Club.
The juicy, easy-peel mandarins will stand out on the shelf thanks to specially designed packaging featuring the brand name and country of origin, the group said.
“The Clemcott brand mandarin is the optimum product for taste and form, which strengthens the hegemony of the Spanish mandarin with its arrival in January to the principal European markets,” it added.
“Producers have wanted to adapt to the tastes of today’s consumers, innovating with healthy and unique quality for the market.”
