Eco Ripe is designed for exotic fruit such as mango

Dutch-based ripening room technology specialist Interko has rethought every part of its system to create an "enormous reduction" in the energy it uses.

Its new Eco Ripe technology for the ripening of exotic fruit is now more user-friendly and cheaper to run.

Interko export manager and co-owner Chris Maat said: "Every detail of the system we have reviewed for energy use and applied innovative materials and advanced technologies to limit as much as possible all small losses."

"All the small bits together created on average a reduction in energy consumption of 30 percent."

Every set-up is designed in close co-operation with the customer. The company's advanced technology creates an even airflow and cooling possibilities within a ripening room leading to a ripening process that offers the user many possibilities.
