A new specialist recruitment consultancy for mid- to senior- level jobs in the trade has opened in York this week.
JP Trett is targeting the executive and professional recruitment market in agriculture, horticulture and fresh produce nationwide and is run by managing director and principal shareholder James Trett.
“I founded JP Trett to not just be another general recruitment company,” he said. “Instead, we are a niche recruiter, specialising in markets that we are passionate about and have worked in - agriculture, horticulture, fresh produce and rural business. Our narrow specialities, and channelling of resources and efforts into just one sector, means we can deliver a superior service by having the understanding and experience of what it’s like to be on both sides of the fence.”
Trett is from an East Anglian farming family and is a qualified general practice surveyor with a degree in land management. He worked in the London property market before moving into recruitment and then into a crop-protection supply with Wolds Agronomy.
“The future in agriculture is extremely important given the strain on the world’s resources,” said Trett. “Land and water are not infinite so we need the best possible professionals to be able to sustain growth and supply to all - worldwide.
“I feel I understand this global position and want to help companies get the right personnel to succeed in meeting the world demands.
“I have developed a team with industry knowledge and contacts to provide us with the insight to see the market in more detail. After all, it is our only market.”
