We are delighted to announce the following recent changes:

Michael Velasco was elected president of the FPC at a recent Council meeting - a decision announced at the association’s annual general meeting. Michael is the chairman of Rodanto Imports Exports Limited, a member of the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers, and has a wealth of experience in the fresh produce industry, which will be highly beneficial to the association and its members.

His commitment over the last year in an acting capacity has been very much appreciated and we are pleased, as we head towards the end of a very busy and eventful year, and look forward to 2007, to be doing so with Michael as president of the FPC.

Jim Rogers, chief executive officer of Fesa (UK) Ltd, is the new chairman of the FPC importers’ division. He brings tremendous expertise into the division and we are grateful for his commitment to the association.

Henri Lambriex, chief executive officer of Greencell Ltd, has been elected vice chairman of the importers’ division and we are pleased to note that his active contribution and direct approach is already taking effect.

Jim and Henry are also both members of Council and we are looking forward to their input within the FPC.

The FPC Annual Dinner 2007, on February 24, at The Savoy, London, will be supported by the Spanish produce industry as guest nation.

We are expecting another capacity crowd at this popular event - now in its 61st year - and we are delighted that Spain, a high profile member of the EU and a major source of fresh produce to the UK importing industry, is our guest nation.
