New nude salad for Tesco

The salad brand fresh & naked has extended its range in Tesco with the introduction of a bagged version of its boxes.

Appearing on shelf in colourful paper-effect packaging and retailing at 80p, the new bagged range of unwashed salad will be sold exclusively through Tesco with the range hitting 500 extra stores this week.

The new bagged range will contain 60g of unwashed baby leaf salad including wild rocket, lambs lettuce and a mix of little leaves including rocket, chard and spinach.

The fresh & naked range is supplied by G's Marketing, the marketing arm of the Shropshire Family Farms.

Sam Wright, senior chilled salads buyer at Tesco, said: “The success of this summer’s fresh & naked launch and its strong customer repeat rate has given us confidence in the concept to push it out into more stores. The colourful boxes have helped break up the ‘greenness’ of the lettuce fixture and have attracted new shoppers to the category.”

Dan Cross, account manager at G’s Marketing, said: “We have been delighted with the success of the fresh & naked boxed range and living leaves product. The evolution into paper-effect bags is a natural and more manageable way for us to increase uptake of the products in a broader numbers of stores. Consumer response has so far been fantastic, we now need to ensure that we continue to challenge and develop the concept going forward.”

fresh & naked will continue to be supported with a strong PR campaign targeting the consumer press and a revamped website.
