New AH Worth group MD Martin Taylor

The group that counts the likes of QV Foods and Manor Fresh among its businesses has appointed a new managing director.
Martin Taylor has joined AH Worth & Co as group MD. He arrives at the business from his last position at plastic tray firm Sharpak.

A graduate in engineering, he has previously held managerial and CEO roles at dairy firms, including Long Clawson Dairy and Dairy Farmers of Britain.

The move comes at a time when a number of senior members of staff have departed QV Foods.

There is talk that a new company is being set up by this group of QV exiles, although FPJ has so far been unable to confirm this rumour.

When pressed on this subject, a spokesperson for AH Worth & Co said: “As result of a major customer consolidating their supply chain, QV Foods will now supply less to this customer.

“As with any business, we have to be as efficient as possible, and this, unfortunately, has resulted in the loss of some colleagues. The future plans for the AH Worth group are to grow and improve our performance. The challenges facing the retail sector are unprecedented, and will require new and fresh approaches. Working as a group, we are well placed to take on these challenges.”

As for Taylor’s appointment, in which he will assume responsibility for all AH Worth & Co group businesses, including FPJ Big 50 Companies QV Foods and Manor Fresh, the spokesperson added: “AH Worth is a family-owned business with an ambition to create and grow the group for the next generation of the family.

“Martin has been appointed to facilitate the entire group working together to create an integral produce business from farm to fork.”

Elsewhere in the group, Worth Farms recently scooped The Farm Business Food & Farming Industry Awards prize for ‘Farm Business of the Year 2015’.
