Former operations manager at Integrated Service Solutions (ISS) Wayne Milne has joined fruit grower Newmafruit International as managing director.
Milne, who has reached MD level aged 34, has also become a director of Newmafruit Farms. He replaces former MD Tony Frankham, who stepped down in October 2016 after almost six years in the role.
With a 16-year career in fresh produce to date, Milne has spent the previous four years setting up ISS, a joint venture between logistics firm Fowler Welch and fruit importer Direct Produce Supplies.
Milne said he believeshis appointment has come at a time when the UK fruit industry is at a crossroads of change and development. 'With Brexit, the uncertainty around grower POs and the issues around seasonal labour, there is a real challenge ahead,' he added.
