A new yellow-fleshed kiwi cultivar has been developed by two of Italy’s top universities.
The 'fast ripening' kiwi is the result of extensive research carried out by the University of Bologna and University of Udine.
A joint statement read: “The cultivar is now protected and we are actively looking for partners interested in the propagation and commercialisation of our unique cultivar on a global scale.”
Nurserymen and companies have until 20 September to express an interest, with a presentation event of the new cultivar scheduled to take place at the University of Bologna's Faculty of Agricultural Science on 10 September.
