A NEW terminal at London Heathrow has significantly reduced the risks of moving air-freighted produce through the world's busiest airport.
Benairs's Heathrow Perishables Terminal at Colnbrook, just five minutes from the airport, is run on a neutral basis and available to other forwarders and companies.
The facility is attracting rising levels of traffic since opening in October, after the terrorist attacks on the United States sent shock-waves through the freight business.
Regular consignments of fruit and vegetables are being handled daily, alongside other perishables such as seafood, exotic herbs and ice cream.
