Cassandra Glavin has been appointed to the new position of head of finance at Covent Garden Market Authority.
Reporting directly to the board, Glavin's position has been created following a restructure at CGMA and provides financial expertise to the leadership group. Her primary role will be to ensure the finance requirements of the business are met, both now and in the future, managing the production of information for CGMA’s key stakeholders and assisting the executive team in the development of services that add value for the market’s tenants.
Glavin joins CGMA after nine years at Thames Water, where her most recent role was as head of IT business management, gaining experience in monthly reporting, forecasting and budget cycles. She was finance manager for the Thames Tideway Tunnel project, constructing London’s new super sewer and latterly the head of digital business management. Previously she had also spent five years at Avis Europe as senior internal auditor.
Glavin said: 'I am delighted to be joining CGMA and becoming part of the team that is transforming New Covent Garden Market. Whilst I am joining at a challenging time amidst Brexit and Covid-19, there is much to be excited about and my newly created role will allow CGMA to continue to support and guide its tenants through this tumultuous time. I very much look forward to working with like-minded individuals to see the market thrive through its redevelopment and beyond.'
