Dutch producers launched a new tomato range onto the world market at Fruit Logistica last week.
Vers Direct Nederland, the Netherlands second largest fruit and vegetable sales organization, unveiled its “La Dolce Vita” tomato range at the show.
“In this campaign the emphasis of our marketing efforts is on full flavour tomatoes,” said Carsten Gogoll, marketing manager.
Two of the varieties in the range, Verona and Siena, are cocktail tomatoes on the vine with a brix content some two to three points higher than usual tomatoes, said Gogoll.
“The Varese is the sweetest and if you buy these, you do not need any more confectionery in the house.”
