HOPS Labour Solutions has appointed a new operations director.

Glyn Smith has been recruited internally after working in the business for nearly ten years within the field team.

A spokesperson for HOPS said that the board felt that Smith’s experience and reputation with growers made him the ideal candidate.

John Hardman, non-executive director, said: “With the uncertainty of labour after December with the cessation of SAWS, and Glyn’s exemplary track record, together with his reputation within the industry for his honesty and knowledge, made him the perfect candidate.

'He has some great ideas to take the business forward with the support of the board and team”.

Smith took up his new role as of yesterday.
