Freight Best Practice is conducting a free benchmarking survey for the Primary Distribution sector. The survey will establish the performance of operators within the sector and examines how they may improve their efficiency.

FBC benchmarking surveys data remains fully confidential and anonymous, and as a participant each operator will receive an individual report offering recommendations and advice on how to improve operational efficiency.

The survey is scheduled to take place over two days in February, and will record operational performance per vehicle across eight Key Performance Indicators including miles per gallon (MPG), empty distance run, vehicle fill and on-time deliveries.

Participants can either capture data by using the Online Benchmarking System or by using free spreadsheet tools provided by the programme.

Interested participants can attend one of two workshops being held this month at Lymm truck-stop on 19th January and London on 28th January. The workshops will help operators further understand the processes available for data submission, and what is expected as a survey participant.
