British Growers Association (BGA) has named Produce World director Jason Burgess as its new chair.
Burgess has been on the BGA board for a number of years and has extensive experience in the fresh produce industry through his career at Produce World.
BGA chief executive Jack Ward welcomed Burgess' appointment, and said the trade body is looking to grow the range of services it offers.
He said: “It is incredibly helpful to have someone of Jason’s experience, ability and standing in the sector to lead the Board of British Growers.
“As the industry gears up to approach the uncertain future following Brexit, it opens up opportunities and challenges in equal measure.
“Our role at British Growers is to support the sector, maximise the opportunities and meet the challenges. The board plays a critical role in guiding and directing the executive team at Louth to provide the right services and maintain its relevance.”
