Assured Food Standards (AFS) has appointed Professor Mark Tatchell as chairman of the Assured Produce Board and AFS Board member for horticulture.

Tatchell will join Assured Produce at the start of next month, having left the University of Warwick where he worked as a research director facilitating interdisciplinary research to the rural sustainability agenda.

Colin Smith, chairman of AFS, welcomed the appointment and thanked outgoing chairman Chris Payne for his commitment and hard work over the past five years on both the AP and AFS boards.
