Confederation of Agricultural Associations of the State of Sinaloa (CAADES) and Council for Economic Development Sinaloa/Center for Investment and Trade (CODESIN/CIT) have signed a three-way landmark agreement with AgriWorld Exchange.

The agreement with AgriWorld Exchange, the first live online agri-trading marketplace, took place during the annual ExpoAgro Show in Culiacan, Sinaloa Mexico, which ran from February 6-9.

Under the terms of the agreement, the organisations will work together to bring the benefits of the AgriWorld Exchange e-commerce solution, and educate the fresh produce growers and grower associations in the use of the exchange. This agreement is expected to expand the exports of the growers in Sinaloa, an area of more than two million hectares of fertile land and the most important food supplier in Mexico.

“AgriWorld Exchange represents an important step forward for the many growers of Sinaloa, in that it gives them more control over their sales and profits with no costly intermediary,” explains Manuel Tarriba Urtuzuástegui, president of CAADES. “CAADES, together with CIT, is excited to sign this important agreement that we are certain will increase exports by our growers, and will also provide better quality and higher volumes for the national market.”

Efrain J. Reséndiz Patiño, deputy secretary of economic development for the State of Sinaloa and ceo of CODESIN/CIT, signed the agreement on behalf of CIT and simultaneously introduced the new CIT offices and training lab facilities in Culiacan. This state-of-the-art venue will be used to conduct training for growers and grower associations in the use of AgriWorld Exchange.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to enable the growers and exporters of Sinaloa to make significant advances in their business,” said Daniel Ruz, president of AgriWorld Exchange. “This unique three-way relationship underscores the commitment of CAADES, CIT and AgriWorld Exchange to ensuring that the state of Sinaloa plays a major role in the emerging Internet agribusiness economy.”
